Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tariq Kamal is a senior higher-education leader, researcher, and academic entrepreneur with more than twenty years of experience in university governance, institutional development, quality assurance, and strategic growth.

As Founder and Rector of Khurasan University — ranked second-best university in Afghanistan by the Ministry of Higher Education in 2015 — he has built one of the country's leading private universities from inception, and served as President of the Afghanistan Private Universities Union, representing the private higher-education sector in national policy dialogue.

He holds a PhD in Leadership from Istanbul Commerce University and an MBA in Leadership from the University of Liverpool, and his research and teaching span higher-education leadership, management, and organisational studies, with distinctive expertise in institution-building, governance in fragile contexts, and internationalisation.
